Starting the New Year on the right TECH!
Two exciting PD events are coming up in January 2015. In this post I’d like to invite you to join me and participate in both of them!
For those of you who prefer to develop professionally in the comfort of your home or office, REALIZE! 2015 offers a two-day lineup of empowering sessions in the area of adult ESL on a variety of topics including EAP, LINC, PBLA, and teaching with technology.
Join me for my presentation on "Reflective learning and teaching in adult ESL Literacy: a PBLA approach" to explore a few practical ideas on PBLA implementation in adult ESL Literacy classroom including tips on literacy and language needs assessment, goal setting, developing informed learning activities, and self-evaluation.
Those of you who are in Toronto or nearby and would like to go out, meet fellow teachers, and network in the spirit of a traditional F2F conference, attend the “Technology for Teachers” MINICON organized by TESL Toronto and held at OISE. Although it is a conference on technology, you have to be physically present to attend!
There is a great variety of workshops to choose from for all levels of tech saviness and interests in language teaching with technology. Remember this is an event organized specifically for adult ESL practitioners to support them in embracing technology in their classrooms.

On the day of the event, please be ready to meet and greet adult ESL professionals passionate about enhancing language teaching and learning with technology. Prepare for the event by brushing up your networking skills, reviewing your social media profiles if necessary (e.g., LinkedIN), thinking of questions to ask and classroom experiences to share.
